It’s Been a Good Crabby Day
It’s been an excellent crabby day! Today I was doing a little hermie inventory and discover that my Cavipe, Mr. Carrot, had molted. He is my first Cav molt, so I’m very excited that it was successful. He decided to molt on the second level in the moss and has already eaten most of his exo. I was a little freaked at first because I saw his exo BP before I actually saw him.
I went out this afternoon and came home to find Monster, my largest straw, had finally changed shells! I got Monster on 4/17 and he has refused to change shells even tho his shell was full of holes.
Of course instead of selecting one of the nice jumbo shells that I have in the tank for him, he opted for a shell that he still can’t fit all the way into. Oh well, I’m just so happy that he’s not in a shell with hole in it anymore.
He’s been hiding behind the climbing background today, so it was hard for me to get a shot of him in his new shell without glass glare. Hopefully, tomorrow he will feel like modeling his new shell.
