The Final Two

Purdy - Strawberry Hermit Crab - Perlatus - Canon G2

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that Petco wouldn’t sell me their remaining straws so Vicki went and picked them up for me. I haven’t seen Vicki since then, her mother passed away and needless to say, it’s been a tough time for her.

I finally went to visit her today. She’s an amazing lady, I know that her heart aches, but she seemed to be doing well. I saw her gorgeous new 120 gallon and it’s amazing! I’ll post some photos tomorrow. I saw Sue’s 30 PPs and they seem to be doing ok. Vicki is taking awesome care of them, but you can tell that they’ve been through the mill. Most of them are down doing their business and the crabs that are on the surface seem rather pale in color. I would assume this stems from the fact that they’ve been living in a garage with no humidity, no heat, poor lighting, and little food and water. Ugggggg.

I brought home the two straws, Purdy (above) is all over the tank. I’ve already been able to sex her, maybe I’ll post some sexing photos tomorrow. I haven’t named or sexed her partner yet. He’s much more shy.

I picked up a Repti Glo 2.0 fluorescent bulb and an incandescent light fixture for the 29 gallon at the Fremont Family Pets today. These seem to have stabilized my humidity issues, so I’m a happy camper. I love that little pet store, great stuff!
